MICCAI 2025 in Daejeon, Korea

This week, Denis Parra and Pablo Messina attended the 28th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI 2025), held in Daejeon, Republic of Korea.

The event featured outstanding keynotes and workshops exploring the frontiers of AI in medicine, including talks on Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) in Clinical Practice and presentations by leading researchers from Stanford, MIT, and VinUniversity.

During the conference, Denis and Pablo presented ongoing research and collaborations with Yuyan Ge and René Vidal, as well as student work by Andrés Carvallo and Gregory Schuit Condell at the HAIC-MICCAI workshop.

Denis highlighted the value of the conference for networking and knowledge exchange: “There’s so much to bring back to our students and colleagues,” he commented after a week full of inspiring discussions and new ideas.
